昭和8（1933）年に建てられた近代和風住宅（日本銀行支店長役宅）で、歴代支店長が居住・執務、重要な賓客を招く場として使用されてきました。
砂丘館の庭は建物の建設と同時に造られました。
全体は車寄せの前庭、燈籠や景石が配され、海岸の砂丘地らしく傾斜をつけて植えられた松が特徴の路地風日本庭園の主庭、ガーデンパーティのできた芝生の奥庭、趣ある姿の松を鑑賞する中庭、勝手庭からなります。
雁行した作りの室内から眺める庭の景色も変化に富んでいます。

Sakyukan is a modern Japanese-style house built in 1933. The successive branch directors of the Bank of Japan initially lived, worked, and entertained important guests there.
The garden was built at the same time as the building.
The premises feature a front yard with a porch; garden lanterns and decorative stones; a main garden, which is a roji-style Japanese garden with pine trees planted at an angle like those on sand dunes by the coast; a backyard lawn that can be used to host garden parties; a courtyard from which the elegant pine trees can be admired; and a small garden adjacent to the kitchen.
The zig-zag shape of the building allows you to enjoy many different facets of the gardens.
