明治から昭和にかけて活躍した豪商齋藤家の３代・喜十郎の邸宅の客間棟（明治40年代建築と推定）を、蓮池を中心とした白山公園全体を眺望できる現在地に移築再建した建物です。
長さ十間にも及ぶ一本物の杉丸桁や杉柾目長押などを用い、円弧形の地袋や欄間の細工など、往時をしのばせる風格がある姿は、四季を彩る庭園と相まって、文化の香り漂う施設として訪れる人に喜ばれています。
建物は国登録有形文化財です。

This wealthy merchant residence was used as a guest room residence from when it was built (probably in the early 1900s) to the mid-20th century by Kijuro, the third generation of the wealthy Saito Family. It was rebuilt at its current location from which Hakusan Park and its lotus pond can be admired.
The residence was built using an 18-meter cedar beam and straight-grained cedar boards. It features skillfully crafted arc-shaped floor cupboards and transoms whose appearance has survived the past. It is further surrounded by a garden that mirrors the colors of the passing seasons. The air of culture that the facility exudes is a point of attraction for the visitors who come to become acquainted with the residence.
The building is a national Tangible Cultural Property.
